Experimental Science of Human Motivations and Relations

We strive to mobilize our curiosity, intelligence, and dedicated effort to uncover basic dynamics of human motivations and relationships. We hope our discoveries contribute to policies and practices that improve human health, peace, and sustainabilty. Canadians’ tax dollars cover our salaries, infrastructure, and the close to a million dollars in grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada that have funded our research for the past 20 years. We appreciate Canadian society’s investment and we work diligently and efficiently to maintain the trust it has placed in us to generate scientific discovery for human well-being.
